Ranjith

Albert Malcolm Ranjith Patabendige Don (born 15 November 1947), often known simply as Malcolm Ranjith or Albert Malcolm Ranjith is the Cardinal Archbishop of Colombo, and thus the Metropolitan Archbishop of the Province of Colombo in Sri Lanka.

Cardinal Ranjith has previously served as auxiliary bishop of Colombo (1991–1995), Bishop of Ratnapura (1995–2001), Under Secretary of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples (2001–2004), Apostolic Nuncio to Indonesia and East Timor (2004–2005), and Secretary of the Congregation for Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments (2005–2009). He was created a Cardinal on November 21, 2010 by Pope Benedict XVI.
