Salesianum

All events, talks, liturgies, meals will be held at the Salesianum which has a large auditorium, small conference rooms, all translation facilities, internet, single, double, triple bedrooms, air conditioning, a bar, etc.

The Salesianum is located on the outskirts of Rome and travel to and from the Salesianum from the centre of Rome is long (and expensive in a taxi). Whilst day registration is possible, we recommend that all conference participants reside at the Salesianum.

When the Salesians moved from Turin to Rome in the early 70’s, the Salesianum was used by the Salesian order itself as premises of the Salesian Family; for over thirty years, this place was considered as a “House of Culture and Spirituality”. For this reason, the Salesianum hosted a great deal of meetings, seminars, study days and soul exercises, residential courses extending over months, weekly updating seminars, general chapter meetings and much more.

On the occasion of the Great Jubilee of 2000, various congregations and religious institutions which were already familiar with the friendly and cordial attitude of the Salesians, suggested a renovation of the premises. Similarly, many different institutions and civil associations which knew the peaceful atmosphere of the Salesianum and the quality potential of the services offered, also suggested major improvements.

For this reason, the Salesianum was fully renovated, in compliance with all safety requirements into force. All meeting rooms have been equipped with the latest technology. At the same time, all renovations have been conceived in such a way to respect the spiritual needs of the guests.

How to reach the site

Directions - by car

The Salesianum is located on G.R.A., and namely on Via della Pisana.
From Naples, take G.R.A. “Grande raccordo anulare” direction “Fiumicino”, then take exit no.32; follow directions to Regione Lazio and Via della Pisana.
From Florence, take G.R.A. “Grande raccordo anulare” direction “Fiumicino” , then take exit no. 33.

The city centre can be easily reached by Via della Pisana, Via Portuense, Via Aurelia or Via di Boccea.

Directions - by train

From Termini Station, take bus line H until last stop, then bus #808 which stops in front of the Salesianum.

If you prefer taking the metro, then take metro line B from Termini Station and stop at “Eur Magliana”; the Salesianum is only a short taxi distance from there (10 Kilometers).

Directions - by plane

From Fiumicino airport, take a taxi or the city train to “Ponte Galeria”, then bus line #808 which stops in front of the property.
